Ecobank MD “Why we’re supporting women entrepreneurs”

The Managing Director of Ecobank Nigeria, Patrick Akinwuntan, has said the lender(Bank) is supporting women to help them promote and grow their businesses and generally position them for increased participation, contribution and validation to the society.

Inside a statement from the lender on Friday, he said that was the key reason why the lender launched the “Ecobank Female Business owners Initiative.”

Relating to him, the effort is a system made to recognize women as special and unique customers who require tailor-made service offerings.

He noted that the idea was created to provide women with the required support to help them excel in their endeavors.

“Increasingly, we are viewing the change in the attitudes of women, and their financial viability as individuals and leaders in their fields. Their bank and financial services altogether, therefore, present huge opportunities, if properly comprehended and handled,” he said.

Akinwuntan further said the release is a charge to the culture to a problem the position quo and shoot for equilibrium in gender equality by empowering females in their immediate conditions and subsequently, on the macro level.

He added: “Our woman customers can be our flagship ambassadors and we’ve created this system for them good sustainability requirements of the Central Lender of Nigeria (CBN).

“The Ecobank Woman Entrepreneurs Initiative is aimed at empowering women by helping them build capacity to grow their businesses.

“These women will discover free health checks, empowerment and training sessions, and other support tools from Ecobank.”
